AS A CREATOR, DO YOU EVER ASK YOURSELF,

“HOW DOES AN IDEA GET TURNED INTO A POPULAR AND TIMELESS PROPERTY LIKE STAR WARS, SUPER MARIO BROS, HELLO KITTY OR POKÉMON?”

WELL, WE HAVE JUST THE JUMP-OFF POINT TO GREATNESS YOU NEED, IN THE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CREATORS’ CHALLENGE (IPCC2017)!!

ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PITCH YOUR CONCEPT FOR A CHANCE TO WIN FUNDING THAT CAN MAKE YOUR IDEA INTO A REALITY!

THROUGH ITS CREATIVE CONTENT & TECHNOLOGIES DIVISION, MALAYSIA DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION (MDEC), THIS CREATIVE CONTENT COMPETITION WAS INITIATED IN 2006, AS A CATALYST FOR LOCAL TALENTS TO PENETRATE THE LOCAL AND GLOBAL DIGITAL CONTENT MARKET.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

The competition is open to amateurs and professionals from the creative multimedia industry. This year, the competition has been revamped to include two rounds of pitching to a panel made up of creative industry leaders.

In Round 1, each entrant must be equipped to present their most original creative and story concept to the panel.

Shortlisted entries will then proceed to Round 2, where the entrants will be grilled on their production and commercialization plan, to take their IP from paper to the market. Innovative ideas and the ability to pitch confidently will come in handy when finalists meet the panel face-to-face during the pitching day.

At the end of the competition, winners will receive :

  • a sum of money

  • a development lair at Cyberjaya

  • unlimited access to MSC Malaysia Animation & Creative Content Centre’s (MAC3) facilities; and

  • consultancy from industry heavyweights that will further help them in turning their ideas into reality.

While MDeC reserves the right to showcase the product for promotional purposes, the intellectual property rights (and international recognition!) remains with the creators.
